What a great feeling it was coming around the corner and seeing that tent. All of the cheers at both feed stations were a great motivator to keep pushing. Thanks! I agree! It makes a huge difference to the racer to be cheered on....weirdly enough, it does get lonely out there on the course at times. Thanks for the feeds Sunflowers and Seeds........nice rhyme eh? Seeds: We have been working on setting a goal then striving for it. I am very proud of everyone's performance at the race! That includes race support and teammate cheering--Emily, Lillian, and Sarah! Also, the Seed Dad who drove the coaches to the race--thanks Ron.

Here is a racer summary of the pond to pond race: Taylor took 25 minutes off her time from last year. Emma took a wrong turn but still had 10 minutes off her time. Katyln took 18 minutes off her time to get a 1st place.Kate entered her first race and managed to place 2nd! Jessica was joining the Sunflowers in the 2nd wave to do the 50km on her own this year. She took minutes off her time and pulled off a 1st place. We missed having Nikki at the line this year but know that High School is different. Many Seeds still looked fresh at the finish unlike the sweaty/dirty coaches. Hmmm, what gives here? To all seeds; we have now set goals to make progress with our riding. Racing provides a fun way to test ourselves and fuel our spirits to achieve. Feel free to make posts about your goal and its progress. Lillian, I really appreciated the wonderful fresh water that you passed to me at the sunflower feed zone......it was an important spoke in the race helping me win. Coach Jenny

I would also like to congratulate everyone on an amazing effort. What a wonderful day. Yesterday made me very proud to be associated with this dynamic group of "chicks". Thank you!I personally can't remember the last time I smiled so much! I would like to personally extend a thank you to Pam. After the ride last Tuesday she encouraged so many folks to do the Pond to Pond. Without her words, I never would have imagined I could have done it (and my time wasn't too shabby either!) .Congrats to EVERYONE! Dawn.

Congratulations to all the Sunflowers out there. This was my first time in the L2L and I was overwhelmed by the number of positive comments, encouragement, and acts of good sportsman/womanship displayed by others when they saw the sunflower jersey. I think this speaks volumes about the squad and the dedication that so many of you continue to put forth. Thanks Jenny for your "smooth" talk pre-race and congratulations on the amazing finish. Congratulations to all our Sunflower podium winners - Michelle, Anna and her daughter Janet, Else, Jessica, Katlyn and Kate and to our huge group of strong, hardy, successful participants! Thanks to the Sunflower feed station volunteers, our cheering, supportive Sunflowers, driver Ron, and the L2L organizing committee for another successful event. Woo hoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a Sunflower Showing!!!!It was truly amazing to see all of the Sunflower Jersey's in the park on Sunday and listening to them talk about our fabulous squad over the loud speaker!!!!!!!!!!!Huge Congrats to all racers and way to go to all of those that placed on the podium!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach Jenny - you are truly amazing! Huge congrats! The Sunflowers are beyond lucky to have you leading our growing patch of riders as a racer, coach, mentor, role model, and friend!!!! You are amazing!!! The season is off to an absolutely incredible start!!! Beth

This was my first year in the race and also my first year as part of the Sunflower Squad. The L2L was an awesome experience for me and I came in at 3:25 and proud to tell all I meet about the squad. I am totally addicted to the group and to the rides, it has been the best "me time" I have spent in a long time. Dawn
